Route of Tour on 12 seat Charabanc
The tour covers 5 miles, takes approximately one hour and takes in most of the historic sights in Norwich. The tour guide gives a personal commentary on the history of Norwich and answers questions about the historic buildings etc. It covers both cathedrals: medieval and gothic Roman Catholic, Norman Castle, 30 medieval churches, 5 medieval halls and museums, hundreds of medieval and georgian buildngs, oldest inn in Norwich, medieval bridge, city walls and towers.
It costs £5 per person. As the replica charabanc only carries twelve adults it is advisable to check for availalbility. Passengers can be picked up or dropped off at any point on route, just flag the tour guide down. However there are recognised pick up and dropping off points:
- Gentlemans Walk, (adjacent to market)
- St. Peter Mancroft Church next to The Forum, (Tourist info centre in forum)
- Castle Meadow near the Castle Mall Shopping Entrance,
- outside the Cathedral at the Erpingham Gate,
- next to the Crypt on Elm Hill,
- Bishops Bridge, Bishopsgate,
- opposite Pulls ferry on Riverside road alongside the yacht Station (also close to railway station)
- Dragon Hall in King street.

The charabanc has a cover but it is not very nice in really bad weather such as heavy rain, cold and strong winds. At other times the vehicle is available by special arrangement for parties private hire, promotions, etc. The charabanc now carries a portable wheelchair loading ramp and can carry a wheelchair.
